SMaRT Conference invitation

The project SMaRT (Sales Management and Relationships for Trade) is pleased to invite to its final conference to be held in the Paranimf Hall in the Rectorate Building of the URV (C/ de l’Escorxador, s/n; 43003 Tarragona) on 21 September 2022 from 9:00 to 17:45.

The SMaRT project funded by the Erasmus + programme and led by the URV has addressed the challenge of training market intermediaries in the agri-food sector capable of operating properly in global markets, both as suppliers and buyers of high quality agricultural products from the EU. The tested and validated 20 ECTS credits course will be presented at the conference.

In addition, there will be

– a first round table on The future of the Agri-food sector in the EU: business challenges from SME perspectives, with the participation of small and medium-sized companies from the region of Reus and Prodeca (a public company promoting agri-food and forestry products in Catalonia, Spain and the World)

– a second round table on Internationalisation of agri-food firms: the role of public institutions and Chambers of Commerce, with the participation of the Chamber of Commerce Reus, the PIMEC (Catalan employers’ association representing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and self-employees), the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and the Chamber of Commerce of Wielkopolska (Poland); and

– a third round table on A new training curriculum to fullfilled job market needs in the agri-food sector, with the participation of the four partner universities of the project: Poznań University of Economics and Business (Poland), University of Primorska (Slovenia); Marche Polytechnic University (Italy) and Universitat Rovira i Virgili.

The conference will be opened by the Vice-Rector for Science Policy and Interdisciplinary Projects Urbano Lorenzo Seva and the SMaRT project manager Teresa Torres-Corona. The welcome speech will be given by Joan Gòdia i Tresánchez, Heasd of the General Direction of Agri-food Enterprises, Quality and Gastronomy of the Generalitat de Catalunya and also includes a presentation of the HUB FoodTech & Nutrition, a project pre-selected in the framework of the Next Generation programme.
